BRICH AS A MATERIAL

Birch as an interior design material
Birch is a durable, visually appealing, and functional interior design material. As an everyday companion, it meets even the most demanding requirements thanks to its many excellent properties. Durable and easy to maintain, it is the ideal material choice for everyday life. As our national tree, birch is certainly familiar to every Finn. As one of the most common deciduous trees in our country, it evokes nostalgia for many, bringing to mind sauna whisks and Midsummer, not to mention xylitol. As a versatile wood, it has always been popular with Finns.
Birch is a durable raw material
Birch is a durable material. Due to its hardness and density, it is a long-lasting choice. If you value a loyal relationship with your furniture, birch is an excellent raw material due to its durability. Due to its high-quality properties, this high-quality deciduous tree is more valuable than many conifers, but it is also more stable and user-friendly.
Birch is aesthetically pleasing as an interior design material
Birch is aesthetically pleasing as an interior design material. Due to its timelessness and beautiful surface, birch is aesthetically pleasing both unstained and lightly stained. It also has fewer knots, which makes its surface smoother. As it repels dirt, it is easy to keep clean and durable. As a light-colored raw material, it is perceived as harmonious and Scandinavian.
Birch is an environmentally conscious choice
Birch is an environmentally conscious choice as a raw material. Sourced and produced locally, the materials support environmentally friendly principles. We have strived to select coatings that do not harm the environment, and therefore most Korte Design products use single-component, water-based coatings. All of Korte Design's birch comes from Finland. Birch is a sensible choice as an interior design material for anyone planning to purchase furniture.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY JUTE

Environmentally friendly jute
Environmentally friendly jute is stronger than many plant fibers and more pleasant to use. It is a completely biodegradable and carbon-neutral material. It mimics its big brother, hemp, with the properties of the best plant fibers, only losing out on moisture resistance, which is a difficult property to beat compared to hemp. As a durable raw material, jute is suitable for even heavy-duty use.
What is jute fiber?
Jute is a versatile, though as yet lesser-known plant fiber in the north. Like hemp, it has begun to gain recognition for its ecological and sustainable properties. It has been cultivated for around 5,000 years in India, among other places, but it has only recently come to public attention in Finland as a result of awareness of its benefits.
Jute textiles
Jute textile has properties similar to hemp. Its antistatic, breathable, and strong fibers give jute remarkable properties. Its strength makes it a good material for rugs, ropes, and other interior design elements that require special durability. Like hemp, jute is a naturally dirt-repellent and ecological fiber. Jute has been used in the loops of the Uno tree stand, making the carrying handle strong and durable.
Environmentally friendly jute
Environmentally friendly jute is a responsible choice due to its cultivation methods and characteristics. The plant returns nutrients to the soil, so it does not deplete the soil. It also releases a lot of oxygen into the air and removes carbon dioxide. In warm and humid climates, jute grows naturally without pesticides, fertilizers, or artificial irrigation. It can reach a height of up to 3.5 meters, yielding a sufficient harvest even from a small area. As a material, it is 100% biodegradable.
ECOLOGICAL HEMP

Ecological hemp as a material
Ecological hemp is an outstanding material due to its strength and ease of use. This raw material, which is becoming increasingly familiar and well-known among Finns, is a sustainable and ecological alternative to many fibers. It has been cultivated around the world for thousands of years, and its excellent properties have been utilized in the manufacture of textiles and paper, among other things.
Hemp as a material is a responsible choice
Hemp as a material is a responsible choice for many reasons. The plant does not require fertilizers or irrigation to thrive. It enriches the soil by removing nitrogen from the ground. As a material, it has been labeled carbon negative due to its amazing ability to remove more carbon dioxide than it produces. Hemp grows quickly and therefore yields a dense harvest, up to three times a year. The plant can withstand a variety of climates and is therefore able to survive even in northern environments.
Hemp is durable
Hemp fiber is pleasant to use. Hemp furniture can withstand even heavy use. As the world's strongest plant fiber, it is an excellent choice for wear-resistant applications. For this reason, the Uno log basket has a durable and strong carrying handle made of hemp rope.
Hemp fiber is pleasant
Hemp fiber is pleasant and its feel only improves with use. It is naturally resistant to dirt, odors, and mold, and withstands moisture well. Hemp is a more durable and softer material than its counterpart, cotton. It does not pill, and when used in clothing, rugs, and ropes, it has excellent durability. Overall, hemp is one of the best ecological materials available today.
